How to read these comparisons

Regular season, regulation five-on-five with both goalies present. Invalid or ambiguous shift intervals and events are excluded. Missing games are not replaced by older covered games. xG is available only when all eligible unblocked five-on-five attempts in every contributing game have current scores.

These are descriptive results. Opponents, deployment, other teammates and sample size affect the comparison. A difference does not establish that a combination caused better or worse play. “Apart” includes only this team's selected season and game window, including players who were later traded.

Charts use separate samples with different ice time. Samples under 10 minutes are flagged; rates can still be volatile with more time. No observed time produces unavailable rates. Missing xG is never treated as zero.
