This page ranks users based on how well they performed on completed NHL game picks. It also compares each user against the pre-game model on the exact same games they picked.

How the leaderboard works

Each time a user makes a pick and that game is completed, the result can be graded as correct or incorrect. The leaderboard then summarizes those results across all completed picks for that user.

When the qualification toggle is turned on, the main leaderboard shows only users with at least 25 completed picks. Users below that threshold appear in the secondary section.

Column explanations

#
The user’s rank in the current leaderboard view. Rank changes depending on whether the qualification filter is on or off.
Username
The account name of the user. Users with the Not Yet Qualified badge have not reached the minimum completed-pick threshold for the main qualified leaderboard.
Picks
The total number of completed picks graded for that user. Only games with final scores are included here.
Correct
The number of completed picks where the user selected the winning team correctly.
User Accuracy
The percentage of completed picks the user got correct.
Formula:
User Accuracy = (Correct Picks ÷ Total Picks) × 100
Model Record
The model’s win-loss record on the exact same completed games that this user picked. This makes the comparison fair because both are being judged on the same sample of games.
Example:
18-7 means the model was correct on 18 of that user’s 25 graded games and incorrect on 7.
Model Accuracy
The model’s accuracy on the same completed games included in that user’s results.
Formula:
Model Accuracy = (Model Correct ÷ Model Total) × 100
Vs Model
The difference between the user’s accuracy and the model’s accuracy on the same games. A positive number means the user outperformed the model. A negative number means the model performed better.
Formula:
Vs Model = User Accuracy − Model Accuracy

How to read the colors

+ value means the user beat the model on those games.
- value means the model performed better than the user.
0.0% means the user and model performed equally on that sample.

Important notes

  • Only completed games are counted in leaderboard results.
  • Upcoming picks are not included until the game is final.
  • The qualified leaderboard is meant to reduce small-sample noise.
  • A user with only a few picks may have a high percentage that changes quickly.
  • The model comparison is based only on games where model results are available.
